Role Description

We are looking for Contract Trainers that share our passion for workplace health and safety. In this role, you will deliver health and safety training programs to a variety of clients across Ontario while representing PSHSA as a trusted partner in workplace safety.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Training Delivery:
  • Deliver Health and Safety Training programs including Basic Certification and Part 2 Certification training as required.
  • Deliver training in alignment with PSHSA standards and established lesson plans.
• Knowledge & Expertise:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
  • Stay current on leading health and safety initiatives across Ontario and other jurisdictions.
  • Maintain knowledge of PSHSA products and services.
• Client Engagement:
  • Represent PSHSA when delivering training to clients within the education, municipal, and healthcare sectors.

Qualifications

• A professional occupational health and safety designation.
• Completion of at least 30 hours of occupational health and safety training within the last two years.
• Five years of recent occupational health and safety experience.
• A degree, diploma, or certificate in occupational health and safety.
• Adult education experience such as:
  • 100+ hours of adult education delivery experience within the last five years.
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in adult education principles.
  • A professional training and development designation or instructor training certification.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
• Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
• Ability to meet travel requirements within Ontario.

• Status: Contract/Casual (Work is not guaranteed).
• Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada.
• Travel Required: Yes.
• Salary Range: $500 per day.

Position Context

This contract role has been established to support ongoing and fluctuating training needs across the organization. It is not intended to backfill a specific vacancy, but rather to maintain a pool of qualified trainers who can be engaged on an as-needed, casual basis to deliver programs in alignment with organizational priorities.
