[Hiring] Contract French Online Facilitator @Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Role Description

NAIT’s Department of Continuing Education is seeking Contract Instructors to teach online French courses during the 15-week Spring term (May 4 – August 13, 2026). Spring 2026 French courses will be delivered online on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. MTN. Contract facilitators will teach remotely from home and are expected to lead engaging, high-quality virtual classes. Instructional materials will be provided to support course delivery. Instructors must have access to reliable technology, including a computer, webcam, and headset, to meet online delivery standards. Proficiency in using Brightspace (or similar LMS) and Microsoft Teams is required.

Contract Instruction Deliverables:

• Teach NAIT French Program courses online during the Spring term (May 4 to August 13, 2026)
• Instruct and assess students using an Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) approach, delivering online lessons aligned with course learning outcomes using provided materials
• Ensure instruction aligns with NAIT/Continuing Education/FSL best practices
• Apply effective classroom management strategies to support a productive online learning environment
• Work both independently and collaboratively to maintain consistent, high-quality course delivery across NAIT FSL courses.

Qualifications

• Minimum related bachelor's degree required
• Experience teaching French as a second or foreign language required
• Previous teaching experience required; experience teaching adult language learners is an asset
• Certification as an examiner for TEF, TCF, or DELF is an asset
• TESOL certification or equivalent is an asset
• Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

• Knowledge of adult second language learning (theoretical and practical)
