[Hiring] Business Technology Adjunct Instructor @Georgia Department of Revenue

Role Description

An instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the specific discipline.

• Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards.
• Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.
• Prepares course syllabi using provided template.
• Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab.
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Grades all coursework in a timely manner.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area.
• Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline.
• Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program director.
• Supports Program Director and Division Dean/Associate Dean.
• Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Other Activities and Duties as Assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Education or master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Requirements

• PhD in teaching discipline (preferred).
• Certifications (IC3, Microsoft Certified Application Specialist, Microsoft Office Specialist Associate/Expert) (preferred).
• Teaching experience at the postsecondary level (preferred).
• Directly related field experience (preferred).
• Online teaching experience (preferred).

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional classroom/lab environment. This role routinely uses standard office/classroom/lab equipment and technologies.

• Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
• Must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is an online adjunct instructor position. Faculty must respond to all emails and requests within 24 hours Monday-Thursday and within 48 hours on weekends (Friday – Sunday).

Travel

Travel to other campuses may be required to attend meetings, trainings, and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
