Role Description

VIRTUAL CAMPUS is seeking a Business teacher to begin as soon as possible. Candidates with their 5-12 Business (All) endorsement, or a specific Business endorsement and willingness to obtain conditional licensure, are encouraged to apply.

The General Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet students’ academic and social-emotional needs. The essential functions represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

Essential Functions:

• Deliver daily lessons, aligned to state and district standards that meet students’ individual needs and ensure growth.
• Create an engaging, affirming, and meaningful classroom environment that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students.
• Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction, analyze data, and create assessments.
• Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.
• Communicate with families on a regular basis.
• Participate in professional development.
• Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment).

Requirements

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce and student population.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
