Job Title: Associate Dean of Education - HIT/HIM (Health Information Management and Health Information Technology)
Work from Home (WFH) - Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts

Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Healthcare, this role serves as a member of the management team. The Associate Dean of Education will be responsible for:

Administrative, curriculum, mentoring tasks, and teaching responsibilities with an emphasis on overall program success.

Handling a variety of strategic tasks, including departmental and company goals.
Management Tasks
-
Conduct hiring, onboarding, and on-going training of faculty in the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs.

Develop and manage the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs.
-
Assist the Dean of Healthcare with completing the CAHIIM Annual Program Assessment Report (APAR).
-
Mentor new instructors assigned to the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs.

Work with the Dean of Healthcare in conducting periodic program reviews and maintaining appropriate assessment records.

Accomplish departmental objectives by managing assigned instructors.
-
Provide growth opportunities and maintain a motivated and professional team.
-
Coach and counsel employees in partnership with HR, the Dean of Healthcare, and the VP of Education.

Ensure a safe, secure, and ethical work environment.
-
Manage and enforce timekeeping policies to ensure accuracy and timely processing of employee timecards.

Maintain quality service by enforcing customer service standards and recommending improvements.

Support and champion the goals of the department.
Program Success

Responsible for the overall success of the Health Information Technology and Health Information Management programs.

Monitor graduation and placement rates.
-
Track program retention rates.
-
Ensure certification take and pass rates.
-
Maintain compliance with accreditation related to instruction and the quality of education.
-
Analyze and develop new metrics for programs as needed.
Administrative Tasks
-
Conduct formal and informal classroom observations.
-
Plan ongoing faculty development/training.
-
Organize, continuously review, and develop the program.
-
Work with the Dean of Healthcare and VP of Education to enhance quality of education.
-
Process timely, accurate, and fair performance reviews.
-
Conduct timecard reviews to ensure accuracy.
Curriculum Development Tasks
-
Oversee curriculum development and delivery.
-
Maintain currency of curriculum, syllabi, textbooks, and Canvas.
-
Review training material/deliverables and provide recommendations.
-
Responsible for the selection and development of instructional materials.
Teaching Responsibilities
-
Available to teach live online and asynchronously as needed.
-
Provide coverage when needed.
-
Maintain current certification(s) in subjects taught.
-
Plan and organize instruction to maximize online student learning and engagement.
-
Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
-
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
-
Stay current in subject matter through professional development.
Qualifications
-
Masterβs degree required, preferably in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
-
Required Industry Certifications: RHIA.
-
2-3 years of management experience, ideally in a higher education setting.

Curriculum development experience required.
-
Advanced subject matter expertise preferred.
-
Canvas experience preferred.
-
Able to work a 40-hour plus workweek, if needed.

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Able to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.

Possess high ethical standards.

Excellent analytical skills and problem resolution skills.

Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities defined by the VP of Education and Dean of Healthcare.
Location
This is a remote position. Work must be conducted in approved locations.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Thursday: 10:00am-7:00pm PST and Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm PST, including weekend hours.
