Role Description

This position is for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of the Practice at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide, College of Aviation, Applied Aerospace Science.

• Teach an annual course load of 24 semester hours (normally 8 courses)
• Engage in University, College, and Department activities
• Work from a home office and attend all Department, College, and Worldwide meetings
• Become proficient in distance learning modalities utilized by the University including EagleVision Classroom, EagleVision Home, online, and blended
• May teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
• Willing to travel occasionally to attend meetings and teach classes
• Assist in faculty and academic issues when requested by the Department Chair and/or College Dean
• Promote a positive university image and ensure academic quality of the courses offered within the College

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate degree
• Academic and professional/scholarly experience in the commercial space industry
• Strong background in research methodologies and publications
• Broad insight into the interdisciplinary nature of aviation/aerospace and related activities
• Strong interest in developing collaborative research projects in specified fields
• Demonstrated experience in both operations and space-related STEM fields
• Expertise in the broad context of the commercial space industry
• Detailed understanding of the space domain, business, security, scientific and engineering operational principles related to executing space missions
