Role Description

The Department of Counseling at University of the Cumberlands seeks a counselor educator to join our faculty as an assistant or associate professor. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Teaching three counseling courses each semester (fall, spring, and summer) in the areas of clinical mental health, addiction treatment, and counselor education and supervision.
• Serving both masters and doctoral students.
• Participating in shared faculty governance, curriculum development, recruitment, student advisement, dissertation committees, scholarly research, and professional service activities.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited program.
• Licensed as a Professional Counselor, or eligible.
• Record of professional engagement and scholarly productivity within the counseling profession.
• Experience teaching online and using a variety of instructional technology and delivery methods.
• Demonstrated experience working in clinical mental health and/or addiction treatment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable of CACREP-accredited counseling programs.
• Experience in clinical supervision.
• Experience chairing dissertation committees.
• Experience teaching doctoral level classes.
