Role Description
Faculty members educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications.

Training

May be assigned a faculty peer mentor during the first term
Course/Teaching Availability

Assigned courses taught using Canvas

Interact with students within Canvas

Discussion Boards open 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week

Expected to be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/week

Responses to student questions must be posted within 48 hrs

Qualifications
-
Appropriately credentialed and currently working as a FNP
-
Earned degree from an accredited institution
-
Licensed or license-eligible to teach in specific programs

Maintain licenses and certifications to continue teaching

Current clinical experience in NP practice
-
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preferred

Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Requirements

Earned Doctorate (DNP or PhD) preferred

Record of professional scholarly contributions

Minimum of one yearβs experience teaching in higher education

Teaching experience preferred, online teaching experience not required
Travel

Opportunity to travel to university events and residencies

Required travel for core faculty throughout the year
Work Environment

Primarily in a standard office environment

Exposure to moderate noise levels

Operation of personal computer equipment for 6β8 hours daily

Additional Information

Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester
-
Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors
