[Hiring] Adjunct Faculty - Mental Health Counseling @Covista

Role Description

Adjunct faculty members serve in a part-time capacity to educate Walden University Students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources.

• Impart knowledge, information, feedback, and critique to students through thoughtful, well-written, and timely communications.
• Adhere to all Walden University Faculty expectations.
• Teach and mentor students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
• Focus on preparing students academically, professionally, and personally to become skilled counselors.
• Utilize the scholar-practitioner model, culturally relevant pedagogy, academic and experiential learning, and developmental instruction.
• Complete training in dissertation chairing and service and are eligible to serve on doctoral dissertations.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a mental health professional.
• Minimum of three years of experience teaching and mentoring Master's and/or Doctoral level students.
• Ability to provide leadership and mentoring for students in the research process.
• Interest in establishing a community of mental health students.
• Commitment to the goals of diversity and social change.
• Ability to work with non-traditional students.

Requirements

• Faculty members must have an adequate computer to handle an electronic learning platform and reliable Internet access.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), zip software, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Faculty Members must maintain their licenses and any appropriate certifications.
• Ability to participate in residencies/pre-practica, national faculty meetings, and other work-related travel.

Benefits

• Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester.
• Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter.
• Other opportunities for contributing faculty members, such as dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions and research reviewing.

Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
• Involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily.
• Includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting (e.g., walking, standing, communicating).
