Role Description

This role involves joining NWHSU as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Functional and Integrative Nutrition Program. You will inspire future wellness professionals while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative academic community.

This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible, adjunct faculty position.

Qualifications

• Earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution, such as:
  • Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN) or PhD in Nutrition
  • MD, DO, ND, DC, or equivalent clinical doctorate with advanced nutrition and functional/integrative medicine training
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in advanced clinical nutrition
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to teach effectively in an online learning environment
• Current, unrestricted professional licensure (e.g., RDN, MD, DO, ND, DC, etc.) as required
• Good standing with all relevant licensing and credentialing bodies as applicable
• Active or recent clinical practice preferred

Requirements

• Prior graduate-level teaching experience, particularly in online or hybrid formats
• Experience with online learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Functional medicine and systems biology
  • Integrative and lifestyle medicine
  • Chronic disease prevention and management
  • Clinical assessment and personalized nutrition care
  • Nutrition research methods and evidence-based practice
• Scholarly activity such as peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or curriculum development
• Experience mentoring graduate students, supervising clinical experiences, or overseeing capstone projects

Compensation

Compensation is $1,760 per academic credit. The hiring rate reflects a candidate with a doctoral degree and at least 5+ semesters of college-level teaching experience. Candidates with less experience or a lower degree level will have their rate adjusted accordingly.
