Role Description

Greenville University is seeking adjunct faculty to teach online courses in programming, electrical circuits, and circuits laboratory. Adjunct faculty at GU serve as educators, mentors, and guides who invest in students’ academic growth and personal development within a Christ-centered learning community. This position supports Greenville’s mission by delivering high-quality online instruction that equips students for lives of character, service, and calling.

Courses may include:

• Introduction to Programming (Online)
• Electrical Circuits (Online Lecture)

Courses Included:

• Introduction to Programming (Online): Students learn algorithms, data types, control structures, functions, arrays, file handling, debugging, and problem-solving using Python or C++. Instruction is delivered through GU’s online learning platform with structured modules, guided practice, and virtual support.
• Electrical Circuits (Online Lecture): Covers DC and AC circuit analysis, Kirchhoff’s Laws, network theorems, transient and steady-state responses, phasors, AC power, polyphase circuits, frequency response, and introductory simulation. Delivered through online lectures, digital resources, and simulation-based activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of programming (Python or C++) and/or electrical circuit theory.
• Experience teaching or training in online or hybrid environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly in digital formats.
• Commitment to Greenville University’s mission, Christian values, and student mentorship.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in a related discipline (preferred).
• College-level online teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience with circuit simulation tools and virtual lab platforms (preferred).
• Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and online teaching best practices (preferred).
• Industry experience in electrical engineering, embedded systems, or software development (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners in online settings (preferred).

Benefits

• Regular Undergraduate Adjunct rate with class enrollment of 10 or more per credit hour is $1000. This rate is subject to change based on enrollment numbers for the course.
