Role Description

• Stand up a greenfield, production-grade environment from scratch:
  • Source control and branching strategy
  • CI/CD
  • Infrastructure as code
  • Containerized deployment
  • Environment separation (dev, test, prod)
  • Secrets management
  • Logging, monitoring and alerting
• Code: Re-platform the proof of concept into maintainable, tested, documented code. The architects will define the logic; you turn it into clean, modular software with automated tests.
• Integration: Design and build a custom API gateway between the tool and internal systems.
• Outcome: Replace manual copy-and-paste handoffs with authenticated, auditable API calls, and give the tool a clear path to production approval at the client.
• Define and own the reference architecture for the platform:
  • Service boundaries
  • Data model
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Deployment pipeline
• Build and operate the API gateway:
  • Routing
  • Auth
  • Rate limiting
  • Schema validation
  • Versioning
  • Error handling
  • Retries
  • Observability and audit logging
• Implement connectors for client systems of record, and normalize their data.
• Turn the architects' logic into production code, with code review, test coverage and technical documentation that others can maintain.
• Design for what comes next: Your architecture must support the later agents (design, config, MOP, device onboarding) and closed-loop automation.
• Work under the tutelage of the assessment authors, advance the goals set out in the Current State Assessment, and give clear status and risk updates to WWT and client stakeholders.

Qualifications

• DevOps (subject matter expert level)
• Proven record of building a production CI/CD and release environment from a blank slate for a new product.
• Deep experience with:
  • Git workflows
  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent)
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible or equivalent)
  • A major CI/CD platform
• Strong grounding in:
  • Secrets management
  • Environment promotion
  • Observability
  • Secure software supply chain practices
• Software engineering (architect level)
• Expert in Python (the tool and the current MOP automation are Python-based) and fluent in at least one other backend language.
• Writes clean, modular, tested and documented code from a logical specification, with little hand-holding.
• Experience with web application frameworks and with the data layer:
  • Relational and document stores
  • Caching and queues
• API design and integration (architect level)
• Has designed and run API gateways or integration layers for enterprise systems:
  • REST and event-driven patterns
  • OpenAPI specifications
  • OAuth2/OIDC and service-to-service authentication
• Experience integrating with legacy and internal enterprise platforms that have limited or inconsistent APIs, including building adapters where none exist.
• Comfortable with enterprise controls:
  • Change management
  • Security reviews
  • Audit requirements

• Familiarity with:

• Experience with agentic or LLM-based workflows, including tool-calling and human-in-the-loop review.
• Prior experience working inside a large carrier or Fortune 100 environment with formal governance.
