Role Description

The Specialist, Technology Infrastructure plays a critical role in implementing and maintaining multiple application software packages running on a variety of distributed platforms in multiple environments. The Specialist ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of application software and any related firmware components. They will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues. This role is essential for enabling seamless technology services that empower business continuity and growth.

• Install, administer, and support applications running on virtualized platforms, including Linux/Unix, Windows, and OpenShift.
• Deploy, configure, and support IBM middleware technologies such as CP4I, App Connect Enterprise, API Connect, DataPower, MQ, or WebSphere Application Server.
• Collaborate with OEM vendors to troubleshoot software issues when needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software application stack issues to minimize downtime.
• Participate in capacity planning and perform application software upgrades to meet evolving business requirements.
• Document application configurations, procedures, and system changes to maintain accurate and accessible records.
• Work closely with application and development teams to support integration, deployment, and adoption of new technologies.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24×7 production support coverage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience providing application support on virtualized distributed platforms (Linux/Unix, Windows, OpenShift).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex software application issues.
• Experience supporting IBM middleware technologies: OpenShift CP4I, App Connect Enterprise, API Connect, DataPower, MQ, WebSphere Application Server.
• Experience with shell scripting (Linux/Unix, PowerShell, Perl).
• Experience with TLS certificate management.
• Familiarity with automation/configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Experience working in DevOps environments.
• Exposure to collaboration tools such as ServiceNow, Confluence, or SharePoint.
• Ability to maintain, support, and optimize application components to ensure secure, efficient system performance.
• Knowledge of automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline operations.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working across technical and business teams.
