[Hiring] Senior System Administrator @Seneca Holdings

Role Description

Great Hill is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator. This position will entail supporting the Naval Air Systems Command (NavAir), particularly the Digital Analytics, Infrastructure and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group and the Naval Leveraging Innovation, Frameworks and Technology (LIFT) and Integrated Modeling Environment (IME) projects.

• Provide support to the Navy Lift and IME service desk and user group.
• Document the acknowledgement to resolution process for system maintenance, outages, and upgrades.
• Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers.
• Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems.
• Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.
• Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access.
• Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.
• Assist in network emulation/virtualization, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
• Support implementing and integrating capabilities within the Atlassian Suite (including, but not limited to Jira, Confluence, and Big Picture Enterprise).

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or 15 years’ experience working in computer science, information technology.
• Demonstrated experience with Atlassian software.
• Moderate to expert-level knowledge of JIRA or other agile tools to measure team productivity and report metrics.
• Desirable qualifications and certifications include Red Hat OpenShift Skill Paths and Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280).

Requirements

• Managing and maintaining the file servers.
• OpenShift Cluster Management: Deploy, manage, and maintain highly available OpenShift clusters.
• Monitor the health and performance of the OpenShift cluster and troubleshoot issues.
• Utilize the OpenShift CLI (oc) for managing and interacting with the platform.
• Understanding of Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and components.
• Scripting and Automation: Ability to automate tasks and scripts using tools like Ansible or Terraform.
• Operating the firewall for the organization.
• Monitoring the internet connection for security risks.
• Employing the latest security protocols.
• Monitoring the local area network (LAN) for threats or errors.
• Classify various software anomalies.
• Develop software quality assurance plans.
• Establish software quality metrics and methodologies.
• Skilled in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
• Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high-performing software development teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impacting quality of work.
• Demonstrated experience in issue identification and resolution.
• Must possess and utilize exceptional communication skills to keep teams operating at maximum efficiency.
