[Hiring] Senior DevOps Engineer @Prelim

Role Description

As our first dedicated DevOps hire, you'll own infrastructure end to end.

• Own the build, test, and deploy pipeline to ensure fast and safe shipping.
• Make and enforce fully reproducible environments via code.
• Define and hit uptime targets that our bank customers depend on.
• Build out monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems.
• Partner closely with our security function on SOC 2 and bank due-diligence requirements.
• Manage the cloud bill to ensure growth does not lead to linear infrastructure spend.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps / SRE / platform engineering roles; experience as an early or solo infra hire strongly preferred.
• Deep fluency with a major cloud provider (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code in production.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines that other engineers loved.
• Strong opinions on observability, with experience in instrumenting systems and defining SLOs.
• Comfortable operating in a regulated or compliance-heavy environment (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Default to automation and mechanisms over manual processes, with good documentation practices.
• Pragmatic understanding of the needs of a 50-person company versus a 400-person company.

Requirements

• Fintech, banking, or other regulated-industry experience (nice to have).
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture (nice to have).
• Database operations experience (backups, migrations, performance) (nice to have).
• Security-adjacent skills: secrets management, network segmentation, least-privilege IAM (nice to have).
