Role Description

This Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will bridge the platform engineering and database team by building self-service tooling for cloud databases.

The Principal SRE is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of a reliable, scalable, and agile enterprise hybrid application platform. Key responsibilities include:

• Orchestrate and automate software packaging, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Enable new technology and execute the strategy hands-on.
• Collaborate closely with business teams, application development teams, and security.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships and organizational savvy.
• Attract, retain, and develop engineering talent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology areas.
• 18 – 20 years overall related technology experience.
• 8 - 10 years’ experience in heavy infrastructure, DevOps / CICD in large transformation organizations.
• Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira / Confluence.
• Knowledge of web application development.
• Deep experience with Docker, Apache Camel, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Python, and scripting languages.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
• Knowledge / Expertise in cloud platforms, Linux Operating Systems, Networking, and Database.
• Deep experience with DevOps Management tools (repository, packaging, unit testing, code scanning, package scanning such as Maven, Gradle, Helm, Sonatype).
• Prior exposure to continuous integration/delivery tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• A DevOps Engineer Certificate preferred.
• 5 or more years of hands-on experience with cloud database technologies (AWS RDS, Aurora, and DocumentDB) preferred.
