Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Middleware System Administrator / DevOps Engineer to manage, administer, monitor, and support enterprise middleware platforms built on JBoss EAP and integrated with Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD, and release automation.

• Strong expertise in JBoss administration, deployment automation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, clustering, patching, and operational support.
• Hands-on experience designing and supporting Azure DevOps pipelines and release processes.
• Close collaboration with infrastructure, application, security, networking, and DevOps teams to ensure high availability, scalability, operational stability, and continuous improvement of middleware and deployment platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience required.
• Strong expertise in JBoss EAP 7/8.x.
• Experience with JBoss standalone and domain mode administration.
• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD setup and administration.
• Experience with Azure Repos, branching strategies, pull requests, and branch policies.
• Experience with Azure Pipelines for build, test, deployment, and release automation.
• Experience with Azure Artifacts and artifact version management.
• Experience with mod_jk and mod_cluster configurations.
• Experience with application deployment using GUI and CLI.

Requirements

• Provision, install, configure, monitor, and administer JBoss EAP environments across development, QA, staging, and production.
• Configure and support JBoss clustering and failover for high availability in both standalone and domain modes.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot integrations with enterprise application components and systems.
• Ensure reliable routing, session handling, resiliency, and failover across web and application tiers.
• Manage deployment workflows in Azure DevOps, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, release tagging, approvals, and access control.
• Package and deploy enterprise applications (WAR/EAR) to JBoss EAP using GUI and CLI tools.
• Perform post-deployment validation activities including smoke testing, log analysis, health checks, and performance and availability verification.
• Participate in change management, deployment reviews, and post-release stabilization activities.
• Perform day-to-day middleware administration and operational support activities.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and health check mechanisms to minimize production incidents.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute JBoss EAP upgrades, fix packs, and patching activities.
• Perform regular OS and middleware patching using automation tools and approved maintenance windows.
• Monitor system utilization and perform capacity planning for growth and performance stability.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, security, networking, and application support teams to resolve operational issues.
