Role Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer (Ansible/Terraform) to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!

This is your opportunity to join a busy Security Engineering team delivering cutting-edge solutions to a fantastic Government client. A solid foundation with Linux/UNIX operating systems and scripting experience is key for this challenging and rewarding role. You will join a team supporting a large and mature Elastic Stack implementation, based on security analytics and compliance use case. Our client’s solution recently won an Elastic award for innovation, and we’re looking to expand the team to continue on this successful trajectory. In addition to supporting the Elastic platform, you will support numerous security orchestration efforts to interconnect tools and to automate security processes. Your role will involve:

• Development of log parsers
• Custom Kibana visualizations and dashboards
• Custom alerting and documentation

This DevSecOps team is responsible for developing a wide range of security and infrastructure solutions in the cloud and on-premises data centers. We are seeking a motivated individual as this team is constantly evolving and is currently evolving cloud security solutions in AWS. To be successful in this role you’ll be passionate about what you do and will be able to work autonomously to engineer your way out of problems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical field, or at least 8 years of IT experience and no degree requirement
• 6+ years of development experience, including full-time development on Linux/UNIX platforms using bash scripting, Python, or Ruby
• 3+ years of Ansible and Terraform experience, including developing Ansible Playbooks and Roles and writing Terraform code for AWS
• 4+ years of AWS experience, including significant AWS API automation
• 2+ years of Jenkins (or similar CI/CD) experience with advanced-level Jenkins experience
• 2+ years of Ruby Development experience

Requirements

• Broad mix of security expertise in areas such as SIEM integration
• Strong experience with systems administration on Windows and Linux/UNIX server operating systems
• Networking engineering experience (Routing & Switching) with static routing, EIGRP, and OSPF routing protocols
• Experience with source code management, including Git and GitHub
• 2+ years of Elastic Stack experience, including deploying and managing Elastic Stack/ELK clusters

Responsibilities

• Writing Ansible and Terraform to expand and automate a large Elastic Stack implementation
• Scripting in Python or Ruby to automate tool integration and processes
• Automating the development of security controls, including firewall rules and policy and IPS policy
• Automating new integration with the Elastic Stack
• SOAR automation
• Developing custom enhancements to COTS tools to improve their functionality and enrich data
• Automating server configuration for security, including logging, key changes, and system hardening
• Automate and enhance CI/CD pipelines and environments
• Automating the implementation of security controls in Amazon Web Services (AWS) via the AWS API
• Build out auto-provisioning and auto-scaling of security infrastructure
• Developing security enhancements to improve the security posture of our Government clients
