Role Description

As a Cloud Operations Specialist at Blue Cross Life, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud infrastructure, automation processes, and evolving DevOps practices. In this role, you will support cloud-based projects, applications, and system integrations while helping improve operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the organization. You will work across infrastructure, automation, and operational support activities to help modernize technology practices and strengthen our cloud operations environment.

Your every day with us consists of:

• Managing and maintaining cloud services across AWS, M365, data and AI platforms.
• Supporting cloud migration initiatives and infrastructure improvement efforts.
• Automating routine operational tasks (e.g., instance management, monitoring, reporting).
• Supporting cloud-based environments to improve scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Contributing to secure and efficient system and network operations.
• Supporting the management and optimization of database and data platform technologies.
• Collaborating with internal teams, leadership, external service providers, and distributor partners to support operational priorities and continuous improvement.
• Creating and maintaining clear technical and operational documentation.
• Providing on-call support as required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or similar program preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience in service operations and/or development projects.
• 2–3 years of experience working with AWS.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and best practices.
• Strong experience with Bash, Shell, and Python; experience with containerization (Docker) and Java would be an asset.
• Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks; familiarity with AI/ML workflows and services would be an asset.
• Experience with AWS Lambda.
• Experience with GitHub, GitLab, or similar platforms.
• Experience with M365, including Microsoft Power Platform development.
• Experience managing and deploying web platforms and CMS solutions (e.g., WordPress, Webflow), including hosting, integrations, and performance optimization.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL.
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce would be an asset.

Benefits

• Pay Range: $73,464 - 91,830 (CAD).
• Eligible employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs.
