[Hiring] Azure DevOps Administrator @American IT Systems

Role Description

The Azure DevOps Administrator will be responsible for:

• Automating manual tasks and retrieving required data in ADO by developing PowerShell scripts using ADO REST APIs.
• Managing the ADO access automation process and assigning appropriate ADO licenses to users (Basic + Test Plan, Basic, Stakeholder, etc.).
• Managing AAD groups, ADO security groups, permissions, and access levels (projects, repos, pipelines, boards, Service Hooks, Service connections).
• Configuring new Kanban boards and adding users, while supporting users with Boards, Backlogs, and Sprints setup.
• Troubleshooting and resolving pipeline-related issues.
• Maintaining and customizing work item fields and process templates.
• Installing and managing ADO extensions.
• Supporting the team in integrating ADO with different tools (Clarizen, ServiceNow, GitHub, MS Teams, Excel).
• Troubleshooting access and repo-related issues.
• Maintaining and cleaning up self-hosted build Agents.
• Monitoring audit logs for unusual activity and system health.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps administration.
• Azure Active Directory Administration experience is a must.
• Hands-on experience with scripting and debugging (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is nice to have.
• Basic understanding of Cloud-based services (i.e., IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) is a basic understanding.
• Exposure to DevOps principles and building of CICD pipelines is nice to have.
• Strong consulting and mentoring skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a desire to share knowledge through creation and refinement of written content.
• Experience with Agile delivery is a must.

Requirements

• Providing subject matter expertise and support for Azure DevOps Administration, including security and permissions, role-based access, setup of DevOps policies, Azure boards definition and customization, integration with other services/platforms, installation, and management of extensions.
• Establishing intake processes, defining service request catalogs, and automating requests.
• Providing technical and system administration support for Azure DevOps through troubleshooting, identifying & isolating issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Responding to product teams' requests, addressing inquiries.
• Establishing governance, standards, and best practices on ADO administration.
• Providing subject matter expertise input to the Center of Excellence, reviewing requests, and providing guidance.
• Supporting the operations and maintenance aspects of deployed capabilities.
• Assisting with and maintaining Active Directory groups and permissions.
• Owning incident tickets to troubleshoot and resolve on behalf of the ADO team.
• Managing user accounts, authentication, group policy, name resolution, file management, and permissions.
• Maintaining adherence to process documentation in all environments.
• Creating and maintaining documentation.
• Automating processes where appropriate.
• Day-to-day management and troubleshooting of issues that arise within the Azure environment.
• Providing user training and usage guidance for the DevOps community.
