Role Description

Civic Nation seeks a Video Assistant for its Communications team to provide support in the creation and editing of short-form, social-first video content across Civic Nation’s initiatives. The Assistant, reporting to the Senior Director, Video Strategy & Production, will assist the social and video teams in producing engaging content for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, contributing to campaigns tied to real-time moments, cultural conversations, and civic engagement efforts. This is a part-time temporary role working up to 30 hours per week, concluding December 15, 2026.

Qualifications

• Be a recent graduate and/or currently enrolled in college or university
• Familiarity with short-form video platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts
• Basic experience with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools is a plus

Requirements

• Support the creation and editing of short-form video content optimized for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
• Assist with editing social-first videos tied to cultural moments, campaigns, and civic engagement initiatives
• Incorporate captions, graphics, and platform-specific pacing to improve social media performance
• Collaborate with the social and video teams to revise content based on feedback
• Track emerging trends in social video and digital culture to inform content ideas
• Support content organization, file management, and production workflows
