Role Description
We are seeking a UX Designer focused on design systems and product UI execution to support the modernization of the Aras enterprise PLM and digital thread platform. In this role, you will partner closely with a senior design lead to translate design direction into high-quality, buildable user interfaces.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role centered on increasing design throughput, improving UI consistency, and equipping engineering teams with clear specifications and assets. You will work across multiple product teams in a fast-moving environment where requirements continue to evolve.
You will join a growing team of Product and UX Designers and collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering as part of Aras’s broader Product Culture transformation.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Execute and deliver high-quality UI design while contributing to the continued evolution of the Aras design system.
-
Contribute to and evolve a shared design system, including components, tokens, and patterns.
-
Translate conceptual direction into reusable and scalable UI structures.
-
Ensure visual and interaction consistency across multiple products and services.
-
Develop early design concepts into thoughtful, well-crafted UI solutions.
-
Progress designs to polished, high-fidelity outputs grounded in real product use.
-
Support multiple product teams with UI needs such as flows, layouts, icons, and feature interfaces.
-
Respond to design requests efficiently and remove day-to-day delivery bottlenecks.
-
Provide clear specifications and assets to enable engineering teams to build with confidence.
How You’ll Work
You will work closely with a senior designer focused on AI, design system architecture, and design engineering.
-
Own execution and production-level design workstreams.
-
Turn strategic and conceptual direction into concrete UI deliverables.
-
Work autonomously on day-to-day design tasks while staying aligned with overall product direction.
This is a highly collaborative environment where clarity evolves and adaptive problem-solving is essential.
Who You Are
-
A product-focused UX/UI designer with strong visual design foundations.
-
Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
-
Comfortable working across multiple teams and priorities.
-
Able to take loosely defined problems and produce practical design solutions.
-
Not dependent on fully defined briefs or perfect requirements.
-
Collaborative, communicative, and comfortable working with Product and Engineering partners.
What You’ll Need
-
3–5 years of experience in product UX/UI design.
-
Strong fundamentals in layout, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
-
Advanced proficiency with Figma or similar design tools.
-
Experience contributing to or working within a design system.
-
Ability to apply and extend existing design patterns.
-
Experience working in a product environment (not agency-only).
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality UI efficiently.
Technical Awareness (Important)
-
Working familiarity with frontend fundamentals, including HTML and CSS, including modern layout approaches such as responsive design and grid.
-
Basic understanding of JavaScript concepts.
-
Awareness of how frontend frameworks such as React influence UI implementation.
-
Ability to design with real implementation constraints in mind and understand what is feasible in a browser-based environment.
What We Are Not Looking For
-
This role is not a fit if your primary experience is focused on branding, marketing design, or visual identity work.
-
Illustration-heavy portfolios.
-
Pure strategy or research-only roles.
-
Highly specialized AI/ML design positions.
-
Working exclusively from fully defined briefs.
Application Guidance
When applying, please include a portfolio demonstrating real product UI work, such as:
-

-
UI execution for shipped or buildable product features.
-
Examples of UI delivered under ambiguous or evolving requirements.
