The Design Manager is responsible for ensuring that the design effort aligns with our client’s business objectives.

Work closely with the 3Pillar engagement team and clients to create outstanding designs that delight the end users.

Partner with global delivery teams (Product Management, Engineering, and Program Management) to deliver best-of-breed products using Agile practices.

Demonstrate a strong desire to continue growing your UX skills.

Work effectively with UX Lead or Sr. UXer and other 3Pillar practices (PDM, PM, and Engineering).

Communicate to team and client a clear picture of what is in progress and when things will be delivered.

Adjust to changes in priority and scope.

Participate in UX and engagement rituals/meetings.

Identify risks and escalate appropriately.

Contribute to client presentations.

Help prepare workshops.

Suggest improvements to standard tools and processes.

Participate in a collaborative team culture.

Maintain an awareness of industry issues and trends and emerging technologies such as AI.
Direct Oversight

Manage a team of Product Designers, taking full accountability for their professional wellbeing, performance, and day-to-day work output.
Performance Engineering

Set clear individual goals and performance expectations, ensuring every team member is actively progressing toward these targets.
Coaching & Mentorship

Provide consistent design feedback and coaching to elevate the team's craft and product thinking.
Culture Stewardship

Foster an inclusive, trust-based team culture that emphasizes accountability and continuous learning.
Liaison to Client Leadership

Report directly into the client-side hierarchy (Head of Product Design) to ensure design work aligns with the Client’s transformation initiative.
Strategic Alignment

Partner with client-side Product and Engineering Managers to shape problem spaces, define success measures, and prioritize workstreams across the portfolio.
Stakeholder Navigation

Act as a senior advocate for evidence-led decision-making, representing the design team’s rationale and trade-offs in complex stakeholder environments.
Qualifications
-
At least 3 years of experience in a client-facing UX position.

At least 2 years of consulting experience.

Expertise working with digital products, business logic, process, and a variety of clients.

A knack for problem solving and a “roll up your sleeves” mentality.

Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to see the bigger picture among the details.

Experience working with global teams is a big plus.

Highly culturally aware.

Strong communication skills.

Practical knowledge and experience in Agile practices and Lean methodologies to build best-of-breed products.
