[Hiring] Temporary Associate Motion Graphics Designer @Hearst

Role Description

Bring stories to life through motion, design, and creativity. As a Temporary Associate Motion Graphics Designer, you'll help shape compelling visual experiences that engage millions of consumers across Hearst Magazines' iconic brands, collaborating with a talented creative team to produce best-in-class video content.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Creative Video and Executive Producers to conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics for YouTube series, social content, sizzle reels, presentations, and other creative projects.
• Design engaging thumbnails and supporting visual assets for recurring video content across multiple Hearst Magazines brands.
• Retouch photography and create polished visual assets while maintaining each brand's creative standards and identity.
• Extend backgrounds, sets, and other visual elements to enhance social-first video content.
• Develop presentation decks, infographics, and other design materials that support internal and external storytelling.
• Support senior designers and animators by creating motion graphics templates (MOGRTs), animations, and production-ready design assets.
• Manage multiple creative assignments simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
• Grow into ownership of graphic packages and animation projects as expertise and familiarity with Hearst brands develop.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in motion graphics design, animation, or a related creative discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or comparable video editing software.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging motion graphics with a strong eye for layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.
• Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a deadline-driven creative environment.
• Passion for design, animation, and visual storytelling with a portfolio or demo reel showcasing relevant work.
• Bachelor's degree in motion design, animation, graphic design, or a related field preferred.

Requirements

• This is a remote position.
• The hourly rate for this role is $32.00 per hour.
• This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation.
• Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
