Role Description
As a Staff Product Designer at Grafana Labs, you will join a growing Product Design organization of more than 25 designers, researchers, and design leaders distributed across five continents. You will be working within a 100% remote R&D organization, so strong, proactive remote communication, collaboration, facilitation, and relationship building skills will be essential to your success.
- Design user experiences for the data visualization capabilities of the Grafana platform.
- Embed within the DataViz squad, responsible for visualizations like Histogram, Time series, Geomap, and Canvas.
- Help design and build advanced, full-feature visualizations that simplify data understanding for users.
- Evolve and execute a design strategy for the DataViz focus area based on various inputs.
- Collaborate with peers and leaders in product design, engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM functions.
- Document user needs and pain points, design directions, UX tradeoffs, and detailed designs.
- Execute and contribute to formative and evaluative research initiatives.
- Develop deep expertise in product area and associated customer and user personas, use cases, and workflows.
- Contribute to the evolution of the Product Design team by coaching and mentoring other designers.
Qualifications
- Deep experience as a product designer working on B2B/enterprise software products.
- A portfolio showcasing solid experience designing elegant, usable, and scalable data visualizations for interactive web applications.
- Ability to rapidly gain an understanding of a technical domain and associated customer needs and user workflows.
- Ability to synthesize business and product strategic priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations into cohesive design solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with highly distributed cross-functional teams.
- Experience working independently in a remote environment.
- Experience coaching and mentoring other designers.
Requirements
- Experience working with and designing Grafana data visualizations or equivalent.
- Experience designing for developers, SREs, or other highly technical user personas.
- Domain knowledge or experience related to observability.
- Experience helping design teams level up their practice and collaboration with partner functions.
Benefits
- Base compensation range for this role is CAD $153,729 - CAD $184,475.
- Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset.
