Role Description
This role involves supporting our U.S based client, a high-end metal fabrication shop based in Liberty Lake, WA. The SolidWorks Draftsman will handle projects end-to-end—from initial design to fabrication and install—building custom architectural metalwork such as fire pits, railings, gates, and more.

Responsible for both initial drafting and post-review revisions

Work closely with client's design and production team to translate design concepts into clean, accurate fabrication drawings

Adjust drawings based on direct client feedback
Key Responsibilities

Conceptual Design Phase:
-
Develop initial conceptual drawings based on loose input from architects (e.g., BBQ cabinet layouts)

Reference prior CFD “set pieces” but deliver visually and structurally unique designs for each project

Ensure differentiation in every project to preserve design integrity and brand exclusivity

Avoid mass-market duplication or repetition

Detailed Drafting Phase (Post-Verification):

Update drawings using site measurements from CFD's internal team

Finalize drawings into fabrication-ready documentation

Manage revision cycles from client, architect, and internal team feedback

Ongoing Collaboration:

Participate in design reviews and feedback discussions with CFD team members

Maintain organized records of drawing versions and revisions

Handle all files with confidentiality—drawings are proprietary and covered under NDA
Qualifications
-
Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent technical training in SolidWorks/drafting
-
5+ years of relevant drafting, design, or fabrication experience (architectural metalwork preferred)

Strong proficiency in SolidWorks; comfortable creating models, assemblies, and fabrication-level drawings

Experience in Autodesk Fusion is required

Experience producing shop drawings for custom builds or structural metalwork

Skilled in 2D detailing, weld callouts, BOMs, and drawing layout

Familiar with typical revision workflows (redlines, markups, client edits)

Reliable internet and workstation capable of handling large assemblies/renderings (Intelassist provides workstation)

Strong attention to detail, version control, and communication

Comfortable working Pacific Time hours and collaborating with a U.S.-based team
Preferred Skills

Experience supporting U.S.-based construction or fabrication firms

Background in decorative or architectural metal elements (e.g., railing systems, panels, fire features)

Familiarity with coatings, finishes, or field-install tolerances
