Role Description
onX is seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher, Mixed Methods with a passion for uncovering customer insights and a track record of turning research into real product influence. Your focus will span the full product lifecycle, combining generative, evaluative, and quantitative research to build a holistic picture of our customers.

Own end-to-end research.

Independently plan and run research, both qualitative and quantitative, across the full product lifecycle to shape strategy and sharpen the onX customer experience.

Know which method fits which question, balancing speed with rigor and making decisions that keep your conclusions credible.

Build cross-functional partnerships and influence to scale impact.

Build deep knowledge of our customers and products to challenge assumptions and help shape product strategy.

Turn research into clear next steps and partner with various teams to inform decisions.

Act as a go-to advisor for partners running their own research.

Coach non-researchers and contribute to shared research standards.

Execute across mixed methods, using qualitative methods like interviews and usability testing.

Design and execute quantitative studies using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Continuously integrate qualitative, quantitative, and behavioral data to build a fuller picture of onX customers.
Qualifications

A portfolio, work samples, or case studies demonstrating your ability to independently scope and execute mixed-method research.

Eight (8) years of relevant experience, including at least five (5) years in UX, product, or consumer research.

A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, or related field.

A proactive, strategic mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Proven mixed-methods research fluency.

Experience across foundational and evaluative qualitative methods.

Hands-on quantitative research experience.

Experience with UX measurement and Voice of Customer (VoC) practices.

Ability to juggle multiple research efforts and adjust as needed.

A strong curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI.

Permanent US work authorization.

Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location.
Requirements

Experience working in a democratized or enabled research environment.

Experience with data analysis or visualization tools like R or Python.

Proficiency with advanced statistics like regression, factor analysis, cluster analysis, etc.

Expertise with advanced survey methods like MaxDiff, conjoint, Van Westendorp pricing or similar.
