Role Description
Our Big Farm Homestead team is looking for a skilled Senior Technical UI Artist with a sharp artistic eye and strong experience in Unity Engine to kick ass turning creative ideas into polished, production-ready interfaces! You will own the UI end-to-end: from wireframes and flows to original icons, illustrations and key art, all the way through to in-engine integration. Youβll bridge the gap between design, art and engineering, and make sure every screen our players see is beautiful, intuitive and runs smoothly on mobile.
YOUR MISSION:
-
Take end-to-end ownership of UI for features and live ops content: wireframes, mock-ups, user flows, prototypes, original icons and illustrations, final visuals, and in-engine implementation.
-
Craft polished, on-brand UI art from scratch: icons, illustrations, banners, offer images, event key art and other custom visual assets that make screens feel premium and lovingly hand-made.
-
Work closely with our sister game Sunshine Island: understand their UI designs and underlying intent, adapt them to BFHβs audience and visual language, and share learnings back with the SI team.
-
Integrate UI into Unity yourself - building and wiring prefabs, anchors, layouts, responsive scaling - in close cooperation with programmers and tech artists.
-
Bring UI to life with animation in Unity (Timeline, DOTween, Animator) to create polished transitions, feedback and juice.
-
Maintain and extend our UI design system - including the icon and illustration library - to keep visual and interaction consistency across the product.
-
Apply UI/UX best practices for mobile devices and advocate for the player across the team.
-
Collaborate closely with game design, art, balancing, QA and engineering - challenging UX where it can be better, and unblocking others when UI is the bottleneck.
-
Keep an eye on the latest tooling (including AI-assisted workflows) and bring improvements back to our processes.
Qualifications
-
Several years of professional experience in UI/UX design and UI production in the mobile gaming industry.
-
Strong artistic skills with a portfolio of UI artwork: original icons, illustrations, banners and event/offer visuals you have produced from concept to final asset.
-
Proven hands-on experience integrating UI in Unity (UGUI, prefabs, anchors, layouts, responsive scaling for mobile).
-
Strong UI animation skills in Unity using Timeline, DOTween, Animator or equivalent.
-
Proficient in Figma for design, handoff and design-system work.
-
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator) - able to deliver high-quality icons, illustrations, banners, offer images and marketing-adjacent UI art that meets the visual bar of a polished mobile game.
-
Comfortable with Git (or equivalent VCS): branching, merging UI assets, resolving conflicts without drama.
-
Excellent communication skills in English and a strong collaborative mindset - able to work effectively across disciplines and time zones, explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, and proactively raise issues early.
-
Solid understanding of UI/UX information architecture, interaction design and industry standards for mobile games.
-
A self-motivated individual with a passion for mobile and casual games, strong analytical skills and a strong customer focus.
Requirements
-
Curiosity for and hands-on experience with AI image-generation and AI-assisted design tooling, with ideas on how to bring it into a production pipeline.
-
Experience with UI shaders / Shader Graph for stylized UI effects.
-
Familiarity with Jira and Trello for tracking UI/art tickets.
-
Completed degree in Media Psychology, Graphic Design, Game Design or a similar subject.
-
Sample work showcasing UI animation and shader experiments in Unity.
Benefits
-
Full flexibility: Work remotely or come to our modern office in Hamburg city center close to the Alster.
-
Work-life-balance: Competitive annual leave and flexible working hours.
-
Join a supportive team in a pragmatic, yet challenging environment, with flat hierarchies and state-of-the-art technologies.
-
Work in a multicultural environment with multidisciplinary and experienced colleagues from the entire product lifecycle in a culture of continuous development and learning opportunities.
-

-
