Role Description

Acorns is seeking a Sr. Product Designer to join our dynamic team. You’ll work closely with your team on every stage of the product development process; from ideation and concept to strategy, UX, and visual design. You’ll work with other design team members to help flush out new features as well as work directly with our CEO and other stakeholders to address design changes and improvements throughout our apps and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Expertise: Understand product goals and objectives, translate requirements into actionable design solutions, and address user pain points while contributing to the company’s key performance indicators (OKRs).
  • Collaborative Execution: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to design and deliver user-centered features and functionality across multiple platforms.
  • Solution Presentation: Develop and present thoughtful, innovative, and user-focused design solutions that enhance the customer experience. Clearly articulate design rationale to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • Research-Driven Design: Advocate for and incorporate user research into the design process. Share findings to inform product development and refine solutions. Must be comfortable with running live A/B experiments and contribute to research strategy.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in design reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team. Serve as a design advocate across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related role, with a demonstrated ability to deliver impactful user experiences.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and best practices, including typography, desktop/mobile UI, color schemes, layout, and iconography. Skilled in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing your ability to design and deliver impactful, user-centered solutions across digital products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience working within and contributing to a design system to ensure consistency and scalability in your design outputs.
