[Hiring] Senior Experience Designer (Product & Design Platform) @Referrals Only

Role Description

Designers at Thoughtworks creatively solve the right problems. We work collaboratively to deliver bespoke software and take on the most challenging problems our clients have.

• Play an active role in the delivery and design of technology projects, developing and evolving digital products and services within complex ecosystems.
• Collaborate with small, cross-functional teams to create a wide range of experience design deliverables including journey maps, service blueprints, prototypes at multiple fidelity levels, and design systems.
• Contribute to the evolution of Design Platforms and Design Systems, connecting design decisions to product and engineering strategy.
• Work in close collaboration with engineering teams, understanding technical trade-offs and operating comfortably in agile delivery contexts.
• Lead discovery and research activities, translating findings into concrete product and platform-level decisions — not just research outputs.
• Facilitate workshops and develop design strategies that connect user insights to business and product direction.
• Balance client and Thoughtworker expectations by clearly communicating experience design deliverables and managing scope and risk.
• Support less-experienced designers and contribute to the broader design community at Thoughtworks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience across the full design cycle: discovery, prototyping, and delivery — not just one phase.
• Prototyping at multiple fidelity levels is a core part of your practice, not an occasional activity.
• Experience contributing to or working with Design Systems or Design Platforms in a product context.
• Comfortable leading and advising research activities, employing methods such as contextual inquiry, moderated interviews, usability testing, and experiments.
• Ability to connect research insights to product decisions and clearly articulate the why behind your design choices.
• Systemic thinking: you can reason about how design decisions scale across teams, products, or journeys.
• Advanced English and Spanish are required (both non-negotiable given the client and team context).
• Collaborative, practical approach to design and thrive in cross-functional teams alongside product managers and engineers.
• Strong communicator who can present findings and design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of stakeholder management and ability to build trust with clients throughout a project.
• A passion for contributing to the experience design community at Thoughtworks.
• Portfolio link showcasing expertise in Digital products - Web and Mobile is preferred.
