Role Description
The Senior Designer-Luxury Markets is an integral part of the creative and technical team driving the success of Versa Designed Surfaces. This role is responsible for developing market-specific, commercially viable wallcovering collections informed by high-end-market intelligence, trend analysis, and strong design instinct and passion.
In addition to concept design and development, the Senior Designer-Luxury Markets oversees:

Color palette creation

Prototype approvals

CAD-based color development
-
Aesthetic sign-off for production tools and trials

Assembly of market test materials (displays, sample cards, trend boards)

Approval of production color matching
The Senior Designer participates in regular design and cross-functional meetings and will be required to travel overnight. This position is eligible for remote work.
Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Fine Art, Textile Design, Surface Pattern Design, or related field

3+ years of relevant design experience within the commercial and/or luxury wallcovering industry (or adjacent sector), supported by a demonstrated portfolio of work

Professional knowledge of the commercial and/or high-end residential wallcovering market

Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and color management software applications, including AVA

Strong creative sensibility with demonstrated interest in surface pattern design and a refined understanding of color theory and color relationships

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Energy and passion for creating designs that position Versa at the forefront of the high-end luxury wallcovering market

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams

High level of initiative with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Professional presence and willingness to travel domestically and internationally by air
Requirements

Develop original, aesthetic and marketable wallcovering patterns/designs for manufacture and distribution in high-end commercial and residential markets

Design repeatable patterns suitable for rotogravure, digital, and other manufacturing processes

Create color palettes based on sales data, market feedback, and color trend analysis using CAD/Photoshop and/or AVA systems

Maintain knowledge of high-end market variables including competitor pricing, production timelines, and launch cadences

Ensure production prototype standards are complete, accurate and submitted in a timely manner

Design within Versa manufacturing parameters by maintaining a working understanding of international production processes

Provide aesthetic approval for production tool engraving and trial runs

Approve initial production runs for select new product designs

Participate in regular design review meetings and update project tracking within the Line Plan

Demonstrate strong design communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Work as part of a creative team within an open studio environment

Collaborate directly with distributor and converter design teams to ensure design, technical, and timeline objectives are achieved

Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining professionalism, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic

Contribute to a diverse range of studio and company initiatives

Represent Versa Designed Surfaces at trade shows, customer presentations, and market-testing trips with professional presentation and decorum
-
Partner with the Versa Designed Surfaces Marketing team and external creative teams to provide design input for select graphics, promotional materials, advertising, websites, and trade show assets
