Role Description
At H&R Block, the Senior Designer is responsible for designing and delivering compelling, customer-centered email experiences that support acquisition, engagement, retention, and conversion goals across the Consumer Tax business. This role serves as the creative lead for email design, translating marketing strategies and business objectives into effective customer communications that align with H&R Blockβs brand standards and customer experience principles.

The Email Design Lead combines strong visual design expertise with an understanding of email best practices, customer behavior, and performance metrics to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
Day to day youβll:

Lead the design and execution of email creative across Consumer Tax marketing campaigns and customer journeys

Create customer-centered email experiences that align with business objectives, customer needs, and brand standards

Partner with CRM Marketing teams to develop creative solutions that support acquisition, engagement, retention, and conversion initiatives

Collaborate with copywriters, content strategists, marketers, and developers to bring email campaigns from concept through production

Translate campaign objectives, customer insights, and business requirements into effective visual communications

Ensure all email creative follows accessibility standards, responsive design principles, and channel best practices

Support testing and optimization efforts by developing creative variations and applying insights from campaign performance results

Maintain and evolve email design systems, templates, and component libraries to improve consistency and efficiency

Review creative work to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with brand guidelines

Stay current on email marketing trends, customer experience best practices, and emerging design capabilities

Partner with Marketing Operations and development teams to ensure designs are executed effectively across platforms and devices
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

5+ years of experience in email design, digital design, CRM marketing, performance marketing creative, or related disciplines

Demonstrated experience designing customer-facing email campaigns in a high-volume marketing environment

Strong visual design skills with experience creating effective, conversion-focused digital communications

Knowledge of email marketing best practices, responsive design, accessibility standards, and customer journey principles

Experience working within established brand guidelines and design systems

Ability to balance creative excellence with business objectives and performance goals

Experience leveraging performance metrics and customer insights to improve creative effectiveness

Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and related creative tools

Experience working with email marketing platforms and HTML email production processes preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is $89,800.00 - $134,700.00/Yr. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
