[Hiring] Product Designer @KITRO

Role Description

We're looking for a Mid/Senior Product Designer to help shape intuitive, data-driven experiences that enable our users to understand and reduce food waste.

In this role, you'll focus on visual design and information architecture, translating complex food waste data into intuitive, responsive dashboards and interactive prototypes. Working within an agile team using Material Design and Figma, you'll ensure KITRO's software is accessible, technically feasible, and thoughtfully structured for specialized users. You'll collaborate closely with the Product Experience Manager and cross-functional teams to create user-centred experiences that align with both business goals and technical constraints.

What You'll Do

• Design end-to-end user interfaces and experiences by creating mockups, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and responsive dashboards across the KITRO product ecosystem.
• Build, maintain, document, and scale the shared design system and component library in collaboration with the software team and Product Experience Manager, ensuring consistency across hardware interfaces and software web views.
• Translate user research insights and business objectives into information architecture, user journeys, and interactive prototypes that define the structural design of the product.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Experience Manager and software team within an agile environment to ensure designs align with technical constraints and the overall product roadmap.
• Partner with the Product Experience Manager to establish an effective visual design strategy aligned with the team's vision and roadmap.

Qualifications

• Ability to identify and frame user needs, distil requirements, and translate them into clear design concepts.
• Strong experience designing user-centred interfaces and interactive prototypes, using them effectively throughout the design process, including user research.
• Passion for information architecture and the ability to define the structural design of shared information environments.
• Strong understanding of interaction design and how interactions enhance the user experience.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary agile environments alongside designers and development teams.
• Experience working with style guides and design systems, including contributing to their development.
• Ability to transform user insights into actionable visual design requirements that inform prototype development and influence product direction.
• Strong understanding of accessible and inclusive design principles, with the ability to advocate for them throughout the design process.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to advocate for user needs to senior stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to staying up to date with state-of-the-art UI trends.
• Ability to analyse technological constraints and propose appropriate design solutions.
• Experience designing dashboards and complex, data-heavy solutions for specialised users.
• Ability to design with an omnichannel and responsive mindset.
• Passion for designing products that create positive impact at scale.

Requirements

• Understanding of how design contributes to building sustainable digital products and services, with experience applying sustainable design techniques.
• Digital illustration skills and the ability to develop an original visual identity for a product.
• Experience storyboarding, designing, animating, and creating standout visuals across multiple formats and platforms.
• Passion for visual storytelling through design, motion graphics, animation, and video.
• Experience supporting user research and analysing consumer behaviour to uncover insights and improve product usability.
• Knowledge of the food industry.

• 30.000 - 36.000 € annual compensation for 80% dedication (around 32h weekly or 4 work days a week).
