[Hiring] Principal Brand Designer @OLX

Role Description

At OLX, Design is more than aesthetics, it's how millions of people build trust, discover opportunities, and connect with their communities. As Principal Brand Designer, you'll shape how OLX and its portfolio of brands are experienced across every customer touchpoint.

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you'll define the visual principles, creative systems, and brand standards that unite a diverse portfolio while allowing each brand to express its unique identity. This is a highly strategic, hands-on individual contributor role for someone who combines exceptional craft with systems thinking, influences through expertise, and embraces AI as a catalyst for creativity, consistency, and scale.

Working in close partnership with Marketing, Brand Strategy, Product Design, Communications, Employer Brand and regional teams, you'll translate business strategy, customer insights and brand positioning into cohesive creative systems that strengthen brand equity, build customer trust and accelerate high-quality execution across the organisation.

You'll establish the creative vision and quality bar for brand design, while building the frameworks, governance and tools that enable teams worldwide to create distinctive, consistent and impactful brand experiences.

What you'll own

• Define the future of OLX’s Group's brand ecosystem.
• Group-wide brand identity systems and visual standards.
• Brand visual identity governance, quality assurance and design principles.
• Multi-brand design systems and asset libraries.
• Creative direction across digital, physical and experiential touchpoints related to brand design (excludes advertising).
• Long-term evolution of OLX Group's visual identity and assets.

Build scalable creative systems powered by AI

• Define how AI enhances brand design across OLX Group.
• Develop AI-ready design systems, prompt libraries, reusable templates, automation workflows and governance.
• Ensure AI amplifies craftsmanship, accelerates production and strengthens consistency while maintaining brand integrity.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies to identify opportunities for AI in creative workflows.

Raise the creative standard across OLX Group

• Establish the benchmark for brand design application across various initiatives.
• Provide creative direction, thoughtful critique and hands-on design leadership.

Translate strategy into brand experiences

• Partner closely with Marketing and Brand Strategy to transform insights into compelling visual systems.
• Contribute strategic thinking to help teams solve complex business challenges through design.

Drive adoption and influence across the organisation

• Build documentation, enablement programmes, design resources and governance models.
• Influence senior stakeholders across Product, Marketing and Executive Leadership.

Mentor and elevate the craft

• Coach designers through critique, mentoring and collaboration.
• Foster a culture of craftsmanship, systems thinking and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in brand design, or visual design.
• Experience building or evolving brands at scale across multiple products or markets.
• Expertise in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with motion design, storytelling, and digital brand experiences.
• Experience building or contributing to enterprise design systems.
• Deep familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Hiring Process

• First Stage: Portfolio & Design Leadership - 90-minute session with the Hiring Manager.
• Second Stage: Multi-Brand Systems & Creative Leadership - 60-minute session with a senior leader from the Creative team.
• Third Stage: Executive Partnership & Business Impact - 45-minute session with a senior leader from the Marketing team.
