Role Description
This role is for a Brand & Packaging Designer. The position requires a designer who can manage projects from concept to final production, with a strong emphasis on expert typography for regulatory-heavy packaging such as SPFs and OTC skincare. The designer will be responsible for not just production, but also refining designs, problem-solving, and proactively navigating complex projects. This role is integral to ensuring all packaging meets high design standards and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities

Take ownership of brand and packaging design projects from initial concept through final production.

Execute high-quality packaging designs with a strong focus on expert typography for regulatory and marketing copy.

Problem-solve design challenges, such as fitting extensive text into limited packaging space, and propose creative solutions.

Develop and refine design layouts, ensuring visual consistency and brand adherence.

Create simple comps and renderings for marketing decks, including scrubbing and applying new text to existing imagery (e.g., product photos).

Collaborate proactively with marketing and operations teams, taking initiative to clarify requirements and find solutions.

Manage and organize design files, ensuring they are production-ready and meet print specifications.

Adapt to ambiguous project requirements and demonstrate resourcefulness in finding necessary information or solutions.
Qualifications

3-5 years of professional experience in brand and packaging design.

Proven experience specifically within the skincare industry.

Expert-level typography skills, with a strong understanding of layout for regulatory and detailed text on packaging.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) with strong Photoshop skills for image manipulation and text application.

Ability to take projects from concept to final production, demonstrating full ownership of the design process.

Highly resourceful, proactive, and an effective problem-solver, especially in ambiguous situations.

Experience working in a fast-paced, "all hands on deck" team environment.

Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions and proactively seek information.

A portfolio showcasing strong typography, packaging design, and production-ready work.

Familiarity with FDA/Health Canada/Mexico labeling knowledge.

Experience with Dropbox asset management and Monday.com.
