[Hiring] Multimedia Specialist @Aptive

Role Description

The Multimedia Specialist role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in digital media production and multimedia design for federal communications programs. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position. Offers will be contingent upon client approval, ability to meet security requirements, and the ability to adhere to any on-site requirements (which may change at contract award). Remote work is anticipated. However, travel for client engagements may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and execute complex visual projects across digital, print, web, social media, and video platforms, ensuring every design aligns with brand strategy and technical specifications.
• Design and produce high-level design and video projects, from wireframing through final production, collaborating with marketing and technical teams to optimize user experience and aesthetic impact.
• Create and integrate visual, audio, and interactive content — including motion graphics, animations, infographics, and data visualizations — for digital platforms and presentations.
• Independently manage production workflows from planning through execution, including design concepts, photo shoots, video shoots, animations, and web-based media.
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to ensure multimedia products align with technical requirements and agency branding.
• Produce multimedia deliverables that meet Section 508 accessibility standards, including open/closed captioning, transcripts, descriptive audio, and alt text.
• Prepare and optimize graphics and video assets for web, social, email, and conference/display use, applying appropriate resolution, sizing, and file types for print and web.
• Create reusable, style-consistent templates and assets (e.g., thumbnail images, social cards, animated logos) so content can be repurposed efficiently across platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in digital media production and design software.
• Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design, video, and multimedia production software.
• Experience producing multimedia deliverables that comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Strategic thinker with a forward-looking approach to marketing trends and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience supporting complex projects and transformation efforts within the federal government.
• Comfortability with supporting complex client relationships.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
