Role Description
We are looking for a performance-driven YouTube video editor who understands how editing directly impacts audience retention, watch time, and engagement on YouTube. This is not just a basic editing role; the ideal candidate should be able to edit with a strategic mindset, using pacing, storytelling, and hooks to maximize video performance.
Key Responsibilities

High-Retention Video Editing

Edit long-form YouTube videos with a strong focus on viewer retention.

Create engaging hooks in the first 5β15 seconds.

Maintain pacing using cuts, zooms, transitions, and pattern interrupts.

Storytelling & Engagement
-
Structure videos to keep viewers engaged throughout.
-
Use B-roll, sound effects, and visual elements effectively.

Ensure smooth flow aligned with the script and content intent.

Data-Driven Optimization
-
Work with the Channel Manager to improve retention curves.
-
Analyze feedback and performance to refine editing style.
-
Implement edits based on drop-off points and audience behavior.

Visual Enhancement

Add motion graphics, subtitles, and on-screen elements.

Maintain brand consistency across videos.
-
Ensure high-quality output (audio, color, and visuals).

Collaboration

Work closely with YouTube Channel Manager and content team.

Incorporate feedback quickly and iterate on edits.

Meet deadlines and manage multiple video projects.
Qualifications

5β10 years of professional video editing experience.

Proven experience editing for YouTube (long-form preferred).

Proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro.

Proficiency in using AI for editing videos.

Strong understanding of retention-based editing.

Experience editing long-form videos on YouTube.

Willingness to undergo and pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Ability to work with the Zoom camera open during shifts.
Requirements

Experience working on high-performing or large YouTube channels.

Knowledge of YouTube analytics (retention graphs, CTR impact).

Motion graphics and animation skills.
