[Hiring] Graphic Designer @College Hill Custom Threads

1wk ago - College Hill Custom Threads is hiring a remote Graphic Designer. πŸ’Έ Salary: usd 20 - 22 per hour πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

College Hill is looking for a part-time merchandise graphic designer to join our team! This role can be 100% remote (must currently be based within Washington, Idaho or Wisconsin state) or can work from our Pullman HQ. Whether remote or in-office, our graphic designers are integral and heavily involved members of our team. This part-time role will start at approximately 10 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow to 20–25 hours based on performance and business needs. The schedule will follow Monday through Friday, with ongoing communication with your department.

The ideal candidate for this role demonstrates strong design skills and can easily interpret written information and translate it into original graphic merchandise designs. The person in this role should have unwavering attention to detail and organizational skills that will allow them to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to design and create under fast-approaching deadlines and to use creative problem-solving skills is a huge plus.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating designs for client projects, from logo placement to highly detailed designs for print on custom apparel or products. This position does not encompass the task of developing company branding for clients. You will have the opportunity to create design collateral for internal marketing purposes and will serve as a bridge between our clients, sales team, and marketing department. The design team collaborates heavily with one another, but this role is also in regular communication with every department, adapting to client needs.

Your role as a part-time graphic designer is focused specifically on creating print-ready graphics for apparel and promotional products within a multi-location design team. Working closely with the marketing, sales, and client services teams, your responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting client briefs and crafting exceptional artwork for cutting-edge apparel.
  • Meeting deadlines and managing time effectively throughout the creative process.
  • Actively contributing ideas and staying informed about our clients' industries.
  • Implementing creative trends accordingly.
  • Clear communication with team members, other departments, vendors, and clients.

Graphic Designer duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and completing daily tasks with proficiency, including initial design tasks, design edits, garment and mock changes, final mock and art for production, personal projects, original design, internal marketing design, and sending files to vendors or other departments.
  • Adhering closely to client brand standards, as well as licensing requirements, while continually innovating and providing the most original, thoughtful and high-quality designs for our customers.
  • Creating thoughtful and original artwork within our 48-hour turnaround time, communicating clearly with your manager and team to maximize time management.
  • Understanding print design restrictions, processes, and design requirements.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of designing for screen printed apparel and promotional products.
  • Maintaining and developing a working knowledge of design formats for high resolution.

Qualifications

  • Creative and artistic, of course!
  • Ability to communicate clearly with multiple departments under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and creatively inspired without micromanagement.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Capable of working as a team, as well as on an individual basis.
  • Ability to adapt to different styles outside of your own personal style and preferences, in order to meet brand standards and client requests.
  • Follow creative direction and respond well to critiques.
  • Open to constantly learning and improving your craft.
  • Ability to multitask without compromising creativity or quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in graphic design.
