[Hiring] Freelance Senior Product Designer @Lottie

Role Description

We're looking for a Freelance Senior Product Designer for a 3-month contract to own the design experience across our Marketplace product — the end-to-end journey families take when searching, comparing, and finding care for a loved one. It's a high-stakes, emotionally complex experience, and design is one of the primary ways we earn trust at every step of it.

• Own the end-to-end design quality of Marketplace — search, results, listings, comparison, and enquiry flows.
• Partner with your PM from problem inception; shape briefs, challenge assumptions, and bring evidence to product decisions.
• Work across a high-stakes domain where accessibility, trust signals, information hierarchy, and emotional context are all live design problems.
• Contribute to the design system with patterns and components that scale beyond your own work stream.

Qualifications

• 4-6+ years of product design experience, ideally across marketplace, platform, or strong B2C products.
• Genuinely excited about using AI to move faster — in prototyping, in iteration, in getting ideas in front of people sooner.
• A confident product thinker who engages with problems before reaching for solutions, and works with your PM rather than downstream of them.
• Ability to present design decisions with clarity and rationale — what you considered, what you ruled out, and why.
• A portfolio that shows both craft rigour and systemic thinking — visual language work alongside complex UX problem-solving.
• Cares about the domain; doesn't need a background in care, but needs to take it seriously.
• Desires ownership and isn't waiting to be told what to do.

Requirements

• Need to contribute from week one; a long ramp-up period is not acceptable.
• Comfortable working closely with PMs and Engineers from the earliest stages of problem definition.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
