Role Description

Syneos Health Communications is seeking a highly skilled Senior Photo Retoucher to join our BoldSky Studio team. This role is critical in ensuring our visual deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, brand consistency, and creative excellence across all client campaigns and channels.

The Senior Photo Retoucher will collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers, and the Final Art team to execute precise, high-end retouching of images for both digital and print deliverables. This role demands exceptional technical expertise, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Perform advanced photo retouching, color correction, compositing, and image manipulation across a wide range of projects (including lifestyle, product, pharmaceutical, and corporate imagery).
• Partner with Art Directors and Designers to understand creative intent and execute to their vision while maintaining technical excellence.
• Collaborate with the Final Art team to ensure all images meet print production specifications and digital resolution requirements.
• Maintain consistency in color, tone, and style across campaigns and client materials.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring all deadlines are met with high-quality results.
• Contribute to the development of retouching standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency across the team.
• Stay current on industry tools, trends, and techniques in retouching, color management, and photo editing workflows; including the incorporation of scripts and artificial intelligence.
• Assist in quality control (QC) by reviewing final image outputs prior to client release or vendor distribution.
• Support image sourcing and selection processes when needed, providing retouching guidance on what's feasible or recommended for enhancement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional photo retouching experience, preferably in an agency, creative production studio, or commercial photography environment.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, with a strong understanding of non-destructive editing techniques.
• Familiarity with color management workflows, including CMYK conversion, proofing for print, and web/digital color optimization.
• Solid understanding of image licensing standards and ability to work within usage rights and guidelines.
• Ability to retouch with a balance of technical precision and creative sensitivity-maintaining realism while enhancing aesthetic quality.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing large image sets.
• Ability to work collaboratively, take creative direction, and provide proactive solutions to retouching challenges.

Requirements

• Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Capture One, or other RAW processing software.
• Familiarity with Veeva, Wrike, or other project management tools is a plus.
• Experience working on healthcare/pharma or regulated industry campaigns is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of 3D rendering, CGI, or advanced compositing techniques is a bonus.

• The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $70.00- $75.00, but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
