Role Description
As TCGplayerβs Design Director, you will lead a distributed UX and Content Design organization embedded across multiple product squads. Our teams partner closely with Product and Engineering in a triad model, ensuring design is integrated from discovery through delivery within a structured product development lifecycle.

Set direction and standards across teams, partnering with cross-functional peers to shape roadmaps, scale design practices, and measure impact.

Oversee UX and Content Design disciplines including information architecture, interaction design, visual systems, and content strategy.

Incorporate advanced methodologies and AI-assisted workflows where they drive meaningful outcomes.
As Design Director, you will define and scale design strategy across a complex, multi-sided marketplace serving hobbyists, sellers, and publishing partners. Your leadership will directly influence customer satisfaction, seller success, marketplace growth, and long-term business success.

Qualifications

Significant experience (typically 10+ years) leading UX and Content Design organizations.

Deep expertise in UX and Content Design principles, practices, processes, and related software and techniques.

Professional experience succeeding at the intersection of design, content, strategy, and operations.

A demonstrable practice of structured professional and team development.

Expertise at allocating resources to achieve optimal outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to guide cross-functional teams without supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

A deep love of the hobby, gaming, or collectibles space.

Subject matter expertise within ecommerce, online marketplaces, fulfillment, or SMB SaaS solutions.

A solid background in high-growth technology teams with hands-on experience in product development lifecycles.

Formal training, degrees, or certifications in UX Design, HCI, Information Architecture, usability, semiotics, behavioral psychology, or related fields.
Benefits

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $146,800 - $239,200.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units.
