Role Description
To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this person designs digital learning courses for InterVarsity staff, volunteers, and other campus leaders. This includes content development, course and curriculum design, and audiovisual production with a rapid turnaround from prototype to final product. Digital Learning Designers write and produce content and collaborate in cross-functional teams to produce multimedia learning products that can be used on their own or embedded within larger course offerings.
Qualifications

Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.”

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Graphic Design, Communication, Digital Media, or comparable degrees required.

Familiarity with learning theory, universal design for learning, instructional design methods.

Familiarity with at least 1 e-authoring tool: Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Captivate, etc.

Familiarity with either graphic design or audiovisual production (video/podcast production).

Experience with online learning platforms and management systems (e.g. Workday Learning) a plus.

Experience in user experience/user interface design a plus.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Premiere a plus.

Experience with web design or app development a plus.

Experience with gamification a plus.

Applicant must include a portfolio of at least two recent instructional design projects that demonstrate their strengths, style, and overall ability, including demonstrated graphic design or audiovisual production skills.

Produce and deliver high-quality microlearning, online courses, and accompanying job aids and/or audiovisual learning products.

Test modules and ensure agreement with stakeholders before rolling out digital content.

Conduct a thorough needs analysis of learning objectives, audience needs, knowledge gaps, and content needs with subject matter experts.

Consult and collaborate with teams and departments within InterVarsity.

Iterate toward a solution, creating objectives, outlines, storyboards, scripts, tutorials, prototypes, and other learning products.

Collaborate with the Editorial, Design, Video, and UX teams as needed.

Work with others to find a way forward among organizational goals, stakeholder desires, user needs, and resourcing capabilities.
