Role Description
Weyerhaeuser is searching for an experienced Engineered Wood Products Designer to become a member of our Western Specification Team aligned within our dynamic Marketing and Sales organization. This role is a remote work from home position, with occasional needs to be on-site at one of our Distribution Centers located in Tacoma WA, Albany OR, Boise ID, Billings MT, Salt Lake City UT, and Phoenix AZ. This role is not open to those who live in other states or countries.

Use design tools and software applications to provide a variety of technical services that support the design and specification of Weyerhaeuser Structural Frame products.

Produce comprehensive framing layouts for floor, roof, and wall systems.

Provide design calculations for single structural members.

Offer design consultation to dealers, builders, general contractors, building inspectors, architects, engineers, sales associates, and owners.
Qualifications

2-year technical degree OR equivalent construction industry experience.

Ability to read and comprehend Residential Wood Frame construction documents.

Microsoft Office suite knowledge β Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Able and willing to reside in one of our operating locations.
Requirements

Residential wood framing construction background.

Working knowledge of CAD and/or estimating applications.

Certification in structural/architectural drafting.

Previous experience with Engineered Wood Products (i-joists, GLBβs).

Previous Designer or Estimator experience.

Understanding of roof and floor load development.

Compensation: Targeting a salary range of $58,000 - $88,000 based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for an Annual Incentive Program offering a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay.
