Role Description
We're looking for a Design Engineer with strong visual taste to help drive our creative initiatives across the web and brand (sales decks, conference booths, paid campaigns, leaflets, swag). When it comes to design, weβre looking to work with experienced people who can pick up any problem and solve it. For us, itβs both how it works and how it looks. As the sole owner of the website and brand, you can shape what this becomes.
This is not a traditional brand designer role. We want someone who reaches for Cursor, Claude, v0, and Midjourney the way previous generations reached for Figma. Someone who prototypes in code, ships landing pages without waiting on engineering, and treats AI as a creative collaborator so one person can produce what used to take a team. You should be comfortable reading code, editing components, and pushing changes yourself when that's faster than a handoff.
If you've been frustrated by how slowly design ships at most companies, this is the antidote.
Target stack: Next.js on the front, a headless CMS behind it. You'll work in both.
What you'll own
-
Provet.com, end to end.
-
Design, build, and ship it. You'll also shape content modelling and the publishing workflow on the CMS side.
-
Interactive pages, data visualisations, and tools that explain complex things clearly. Static content is the floor, not the ceiling.
-
Sales collateral: decks, one-pagers, customer stories, RFP templates. Work that moves a deal, not just decoration.
-
Physical brand experiences: booths, banners, and stage presence at veterinary congresses.
-
Paid social and digital creative, iterating with Performance Marketing on what's actually converting.
-
The brand itself, kept coherent across every touchpoint a buyer hits.
Qualifications
-
Work fluently in Next.js, and write CSS that handles complex layouts, animation, and interaction with precision.
-
Have shipped production sites on a headless CMS and know the operational side of keeping a large site running.
-
Prototype quickly and move from concept to working build without getting stuck.
-
Communicate clearly with designers and engineers, and care about work that's both technically sound and visually refined.
-
Have built internal tools or workflows that made teams faster, and enjoyed doing it.
-
Bonus points for AI-assisted development workflows, fluency with generative image and video tools (Midjourney, Sora, Veo, Flux, Runway and whatever ships next month), generative or programmatic design, and localisation systems.
Requirements
-
Years of experience matter less than taste, output, and speed. Our wishlist:
-
A portfolio that makes us stop scrolling.
-
Exceptional B2B or B2C brand work showing taste, strategic thinking, and range across formats. SaaS experience is a plus, not a requirement.
-
AI fluency, not curiosity.
-
You use AI tools daily and have opinions about which ones are good. You can show us things you've made that wouldn't have been possible (or affordable) a year ago.
-
Comfort with code.
-
Fork a repo, edit a Tailwind class, tweak a Next.js component, push to staging. Figma-to-code should feel natural.
-
Multi-modal range.
-
Landing page to booth render to paid social cutdown to swag pack, without losing quality. Strong opinions on typography, event design, and motion.
-
A feel for how design moves pipelines.
-
A landing page is there to convert a skeptical buyer. A one-pager is there to move a deal. Brand consistency through a 12-month consideration cycle is what gets you a second meeting.
-
High pace, high ownership.
-
You ship daily, decide quickly, and don't wait for permission. Being the only designer in the room energises you rather than the opposite.
-
Strong written communication.
-
We're remote-first and async-heavy. A Loom plus a good Slack message beats a meeting most of the time.
-
A European time zone, for overlap with the global marketing team.
Benefits
-
The chance to work in a meaningful industry and in a fast-growing, global company on a path to changing digital healthcare.
-
Competitive compensation and benefits.
-
Learning and professional growth opportunities.
-
The tools you need, and enjoy using.
-
Frequent company events and talented colleagues from around the world.
