Role Description

Parsons is looking for a talented Design Drafter to join our team full-time to support one of the many large transformative transportation projects that we have either won, are currently pursuing, or will pursue across the nation.

• Some of the larger projects are located in the states of:
  • Tennessee
  • Georgia
  • North Carolina
  • Virginia
  • Indiana
• Help deliver the design for projects that have a construction value greater than $1 billion.
• Assist in enhancing the mobility, safety, and reliability for communities who live along and travel through these critical corridors.
• This position is remote, with flexibility in work location while supporting virtual collaboration with Parsons teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Utilize Microstation to prepare contract drawings from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
• Become familiar with various standards and codes such as AASHTO.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Understand how to read and create orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and interpret supplier/manufacturer drawings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5+ years of relevant experience preferred with civil drafting and design.
• Solid working knowledge of Microstation InRoads and/or Open Roads is essential for this position.
• Projectwise and project delivery experience is desirable.
• Experience with above states DOT drafting standards is desirable, but not required.
• Working knowledge of other computer software used to complete design assignments.
