Role Description

Ashley Digital is seeking an experienced Creative Director, Copy to lead and unify the copywriting function across the organization and family of brands. Reporting to the VP of Brand & Creative, this role will oversee the development of a centralized copy team responsible for shaping brand voice, messaging strategy, campaign storytelling, and customer communication across all channels.

This role requires a highly polished and strategic creative leader with deep expertise in copywriting, editorial storytelling, brand messaging, and team leadership at scale. The ideal candidate brings exceptional creative instincts, operational discipline, and a forward-thinking mindset around how AI and emerging technologies can transform modern creative organizations.

You will lead a growing team of writers and creative contributors responsible for developing compelling, conversion-minded, and brand-right messaging across:

• Marketing campaigns
• Product storytelling
• PR and communications
• Ecommerce
• Retail
• Social
• Email
• Presentations
• Internal communications
• Executive messaging

This leader will play a critical role in building a unified voice system across the organization while also helping establish next-generation AI-enabled creative workflows, scalable content systems, and operational efficiencies that elevate both quality and speed across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional copywriting experience, including significant time in creative leadership roles
• A Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
• Proven track record leading high-performing copy or editorial teams within retail, consumer, lifestyle, agency, or multi-brand environments
• Compelling portfolio that demonstrates mastery across campaign storytelling, brand voice development, editorial writing, and multi-channel communications
• Experience architecting messaging systems and managing complex stakeholder relationships across matrixed organizations
• Demonstrated success implementing AI-assisted creative workflows, content automation, or copy operations initiatives — strongly preferred
• Experience with Rytr, preferred

Requirements

• Exceptional writer, editor, and storyteller with a precise command of language and an instinct for what resonates
• Deep fluency in brand strategy, messaging architecture, customer psychology, and content development
• Working knowledge of generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and AI-enabled creative workflows — with a clear point of view on where the technology is headed
• Broad copy oversight experience spanning digital, ecommerce, retail, social, advertising, internal communications, and executive-level messaging
• Confident presenter with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to articulate creative rationale at every level of the organization
• Familiarity with modern creative operations, content systems, and DAM platforms
