Role Description

We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Book Layout Designer to bring our publications to life. If you have a passion for typography, visual storytelling, and creating engaging, well-structured layouts for books, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing layouts for various types of books (fiction, non-fiction, academic, etc.)
• Creating visually appealing and easy-to-read page designs
• Formatting text, images, and other graphic elements to ensure consistency and aesthetic harmony
• Collaborating with authors, editors, and publishers to understand project requirements
• Preparing print-ready files adhering to technical specifications
• Ensuring the final output matches client and publisher expectations
• Incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments efficiently

Qualifications

• Proven experience in book layout design or publishing industry
• Strong portfolio demonstrating layout, typography, and design skills
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Knowledge of print production processes and technical specifications
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
• Creative eye for aesthetics and readability
• Understanding of different genres and target audiences

Requirements

• Experience with e-books and digital formatting
• Knowledge of typography and visual hierarchy
• Basic understanding of copyediting and typesetting standards
