Role Description
This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the contiguous United States.
The Art Director will lead the creative direction and visual identity for Power to Decide and its sub-brands, Bedsider.org and AbortionFinder.org. This role requires a strategic, highly organized, and innovative leader with expertise in graphic design, art direction, and brand storytelling.
- Transform complex ideas into compelling visuals
- Ensure brand consistency and strategic vision across all platforms
- Oversee creative vendors and contractors
- Provide art direction for video and photo shoots
- Design assets that support Power to Decide’s strategic intentions and brand elevation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of experience in graphic design and art direction
- At least 5 years of experience in creative project leadership
- A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in digital design, video, print design, branding, and creative storytelling
- Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visuals
- Proven ability to lead creative projects independently while collaborating across teams
- Understanding of ADA accessibility guidelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent project management skills
- A learning mindset with a willingness to seek continuous feedback
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and experience with Canva Pro
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, ChatGPT, and work management tools
- Ability to work remotely effectively and travel up to 10 times per year, if necessary
Requirements
- Maintain and execute the visual identity for Power to Decide and its sub-brands
- Evaluate and refine the creative branding of Power to Decide
- Audit and oversee brand consistency across all platforms
- Ensure the consistent use of a user-centered, accessible, and inclusive design approach
- Support the design and execution of all visual assets
- Ensure visual content meets ADA accessibility standards
- Provide art direction on video and photo shoots
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Video Production
- Adapt files for multiple platforms
- Occasionally serve as on-screen talent for branded video content
- Consult with internal teams to develop engaging creative assets
- Partner with the Senior Director of UX Research and Chief Operating and Technology Officer
- Provide creative input in cross-functional meetings
- Oversee the planning and execution of in-house creative projects
- Source and vet vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage project budgets
- Review and approve vendor deliverables
