Role Description
McAfee is looking for an experienced Technical Data Steward to join our Enterprise Analytics team. In this role, you will be a pivotal part of McAfee’s enterprise data management strategy, focusing on translating business needs into precise technical requirements.
- Oversee logical data models and manage complex metadata
- Collaborate closely with ingestion and curation teams to ensure robust data governance and curation practices
- Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities
- Proactively understand and update metric logic and definition
- Develop technical requirements (e.g., aggregation level, granularity) based on metrics established by business teams
- Design logical data model and orchestration requirements
- Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and curation leads
- Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules
- Manage access controls for end data products
- Manage change requests to the structure, definitions and/or security of identified data objects
- Communicate with the Business Data System Owner and Business Data Steward on metric updates
- Act as escalation point for Data Quality Analysts when defined processes are insufficient to resolve issues
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis

Hands-on experience with and understanding of the following:
- SQL
- Python or other programming language
- Databricks or other cloud data management platform
- Technical and business data cataloging
- Logical data modeling, including experience designing logical data models
- ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow
- Data dictionary development
- Proven experience in data management, requirements management, and metadata management
