Role Description

Hitachi Vantara is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to join its Global Analytics & Decision Sciences (GADS) team. This team connects the dots across multiple business functions to drive growth, enable data-driven decision-making, and solve complex business problems.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand enterprise-wide analytical needs.
• Provide thought leadership in advanced analytics, including statistical analysis and modeling.
• Synthesize insights across multiple business dimensions to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Design and develop scalable data and analytics solutions using programming languages and data platforms.
• Apply advanced statistical and quantitative techniques to develop data-driven solutions.
• Evaluate and utilize current and emerging technologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional projects and communicate complex analytical findings to management.
• Drive adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
• Mentor and develop junior team members in advanced analytics and data science practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Quantitative Economics, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
• Experience working with diverse data sources and reporting/analytics tools.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and ML libraries.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in data engineering, data wrangling, and scalable data processing.
• Experience with tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to explore and leverage new data sources and methodologies.
